Now let's talk about the job! The Parents Fund Development Officer works closely with several fundraising departments to coordinate the development and execution of the parent's fundraising campaign for current operations and will assist in the vision and strategy for the fundraising program. The Officer also has an opportunity to interact with the Parents Association Board of Directors and work closely with the Development Committee of the Parents Board.
The Parents Fund Development Officer will have responsibility for engaging and soliciting existing donors and new prospects (150+ annual prospects with an emphasis on donors capable of giving $2,500 or more) and identifying new donor prospects who may be able to give to a capital gift to Bucknell. To be qualified for this exciting opportunity, you must have earned a bachelor's degree and have three or more years of fundraising experience or equivalent sales/marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You must be able to speak and write effectively; demonstrate a working knowledge of the principles of fundraising; be able to set clear priorities and manage time well; work independently; practice diplomacy, tact, discretion, and confidentiality; collaborate and work effectively in a team; be organized; and be able to manage multiple projects at once. Experience with word processing, Excel spreadsheets, constituent databases, e-mail, and the internet are required. Due to the nature of the position, a willingness to travel and a valid U.S. driver's license is also required.
